Privacy Policy
Home.io · last updated October 2026
In short: Home.io collects no personal data. Your home, your floor plans and your accessories stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account. We never see them.
Your home and accessories
Home.io shows the accessories in Apple Home (HomeKit) and, if you connect it, your Home Assistant server. It reads their names, rooms and states and sends your commands to them directly from your device. None of this is sent to us. A Home Assistant address and access token you enter are kept on that device only (the token in its keychain).
Floor plans, settings and the home hub
Your floor plans, furniture, views and settings are saved on your device and synced between your own devices with Apple's iCloud, in your private iCloud storage. If you turn on the home hub, an iPad at home shares your Home Assistant accessories and their states with your other devices through the same private iCloud storage, so you can control them away from home. Apple holds this data for you under Apple's privacy policy; we cannot read it.
Location, weather and your yard
If you allow it, Home.io uses your location or your home address to show the real sun position and weather (from Apple Weather) on your model. When you ask it to landscape your yard from an aerial photo, it sends the coordinates of your home to public map services (Microsoft Planetary Computer for the aerial photo, and OpenStreetMap's Overpass service for the outline of the buildings) to fetch the images and outlines for that spot. These requests are made only when you use those features and carry no information about you besides the place.
Microphone and speech
Voice control listens only while you hold or tap the microphone button. Speech is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition to understand the command; Home.io does not record or keep your voice.
Purchases
Home.io Pro is a one-time purchase handled by the App Store. We receive no payment details.
No ads, no tracking
Home.io has no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party code that collects data. We do not sell or share information about you, because we do not have any.
Children
Home.io is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If Home.io ever changes so that it collects data, this page will say so first, and the App Store privacy information will be updated before that version is released.
