Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 19, 2026
Jib Jab Smash is a game made for kids and families. We do not sell or share any personal information, and the game collects nothing on its own. This page explains exactly what the game does with data.
What we collect
The game collects nothing by itself. It has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no in-app purchases, and we do not run any servers that receive information from the game.
The one exception is something a grown-up chooses to do: Create a Character (below) lets a family send us pictures and a description of their stuffed animal. We only receive what is in that submission.
Your game save
Your progress (Story Mode, unlocked toys, the toys you made, badges, stickers and settings) is saved on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, the save is also copied to your own iCloud account so it can appear on your other Apple devices. This uses Apple's iCloud service; we cannot see or access it.
Game Center
If you are signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game reports your badges and scores to Game Center and uses it to find online matches and invite friends. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Your Game Center nickname may be shown to other players you are matched or play with. Game Center can be turned off or limited in the device's Screen Time settings.
Create a Character: sending us your stuffy
On iPhone and iPad, Create a Character lets a family send us their own stuffed animal to be considered as a new character in a future update. Here is exactly how it works:
- You take six pictures of the stuffed animal with the camera, or choose them from your photo library, and fill in its name, a description, a weight class and its moves.
- A picture with a person in it is refused by the game.
- Nothing is sent automatically. Before anything leaves the device, a grown-up check must be passed. The grown-up then presses send, and the game delivers the pictures and answers straight to our own inbox, jibjabsmash@gmail.com. No email app or email account is needed on the device.
- We receive only the pictures (made smaller before they are sent) and the answers typed on the page. No email address, name of the person sending, device identifier or location is sent with them. The submission travels over an encrypted connection to a small Google Apps Script service run under our own Google account, which emails it to that inbox; Google handles it as our service provider, and we do not use it for anything else.
- We use what we receive only to design new characters for the game. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.
- By sending, you agree that the pictures and descriptions become the property of Jib Jab Smash, and that we may change any details (such as names, looks and moves) to avoid trademark or copyright problems. Not every stuffed animal sent in will become a character.
- Please do not include people, names, addresses, schools or other personal details in the pictures or writing. If we receive personal details about a child, we delete them.
- To ask us to delete a submission, email jibjabsmash@gmail.com with the stuffed animal's name and the day it was sent, and we will delete it.
iOS asks for permission before the game can use the camera. The photo library is opened through Apple's own picker, which only gives the game the pictures you choose. The pictures are kept on the device only until they are sent.
Toys made with the earlier Make a Toy feature stay on your devices and in your own iCloud save, as before; their pictures are never sent to us.
Playing on the same Wi-Fi
To play with other devices nearby, the game looks for other copies of Jib Jab Smash on the same Wi-Fi network. It shares only what is needed to play: a short random code or your Game Center nickname, the toy you picked, and, for a toy you made, its shape, colors and moves without its picture. Nothing is sent outside your network for this. iOS asks for permission to use the local network before this works.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These do not identify you.
Children's privacy
The game collects no personal information from children. The only way anything reaches us is a Create a Character submission that a grown-up chooses to send after passing the grown-up check, and it carries only the pictures and answers on that page. We ask that no personal details be included, and we delete any personal details about a child that we receive. The game contains no ads, no links for kids to follow out of the game, and no purchases.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
